Sham-bolic

Word has reached Las Damas HQ that moves are afoot to once again “change the game” in Tallaght, only this time for the worst.

We have been told that the Women’s senior group has been informed that they will no longer train at Shams' now famous Roadstone Training Centre but will be moving to an unfinished TU (Technological University) Dublin site.

On hearing the news and raising objections the group were informed that they have no option but to leave Roadstone next week as there 'is no space for them.

As well as this, it’s alleged that two senior physios are being replaced by student physios, the senior physios will no longer be available to the Women’s senior squad, nor will the existing S&C coach.

Shams also recently undertook an upgrade of the recovery facilities at Roadstone and our information states that this recovery complex is limited to use by Men’s first team squad only while the Women’s senior side has been denied use of this important facility.

Further allegations exist around the non-fulfilment of contractual obligations and that the club may be failing to fulfil all their commitments.

Our understanding is that the PFAI have been informed and with several women’s players at Shams being classified as professionals and members of the PFAI, there will be an onus on that organisation to once again back all its members.

If what we have been told is true, then it appears that the Shams Women’s side are about to say “Adios” to Roadstone and others for the last time.

Las Damas.
